Transform character-rich reclaimed Douglas fir into a beautiful, functional outdoor bench. This workshop is perfect for beginners and those with woodworking experience looking to develop sustainable building skills. You will learn how to select and prepare reclaimed lumber, safely use essential woodworking tools, apply joinery techniques suitable for outdoor furniture, and explore finishing methods that protect while highlighting the wood’s natural beauty. Additionally, you’ll gain insight into sustainable woodworking practices.
Session 1: Tool training: Miter saw, table saw, planer, jointer
Session 2: Design and material preparation
Session 3: Cut parts, begin assembly
Session 4: Complete assembly, learn about interior and exterior finishes, apply finish
