Colombian interdisciplinary artist Penélope Baquero will show her new body of work, Fugitive Dilemas. The work depicts imagined mythic motifs about how humans dance with the great paradox of our time, where the Earth needs us to change our ways while we seem stuck in ideals of exploitive progress. Baquero’s images invite us to play with uncomfortable ideas about what it means to be “part of nature”, and attempts to help us ask new questions about what it might mean to “save the world”.
The show debuts on First Friday, September 1, at Home ReSource, 1515 Wyoming Street from 5-7pm, with an accompanying interactive spoken work performance at 6pm.
